Beer Tastings
As well as wine tasting, we also turn our hand to hugely popular British and Global Beer Tastings. We taste a wide selection of properly made beers - from hoppy British real ale to German and Czech Republic lagers, American micro-brewed golden ales to Belgian fruit beers. Many are produced in the old-fashioned way - ie bottle conditioned, live beers made from quality specialist hops and specialist malts.
On these tastings, we will learn about good indicators of real beer, such as the depth of fruity, yet bitter hop flavours, a smoky, malt-spiked finish, a gentle snail’s trail of tiny bubbles on the head and a faint spritz on the tongue.
You will also learn how beer is made and how the different types of malt and hops affect the taste. The beers are accompanied by some regionally-matched food tasting samples to complement their flavours.
