NEW! Wine & Classic Sites Tour of Greece
Nine Day ‘Wine and Classical Sites’ tour of Southern Greece, 16th – 24th June 2018
Three places remaining
Do you fancy a holiday, this year, which combines tastings and visits to some of the finest Greek vineyards and wineries, with tours to three of the country’s most important classical sites? And, there will also be some sunshine.
If so, join us on a fascinating ‘Wine and Classical Sites Tour’ to Athens and the Peloponnese in mid-June, one of the best times of the year to be in Greece. The tour will include three of Greece’s major wine regions, Attiki, Nemea and Mantinea, as well as visits to the legendary classical sites Mycenae, Epidaurus and Olympia. Accommodation will be in three centres: Athens; Nafplion, one of the loveliest towns in all of Greece with a beautiful setting by the sea; and Olympia, home of the original Olympic Games.
Greek Wine has seen radical improvements in the last 25 years and there is now a whole host of ‘boutique’ wineries making excellent wines from a range of inidigineous varieties - most with unpronounceable names such as Agiorgitiko, Moschofilero and Savatiano.
The tour starts in Athens, in the early evening of Saturday 16th June and concludes, after breakfast on Sunday 24th June. Included in the price are:
• Eight nights’ bed and breakfast accommodation (see below for further details)
• Air-conditioned coach transport throughout the tour
• Tastings at ten different wineries
• Eight Lunches or Dinners at wineries or local restaurants
• Entrance tickets to Epidaurus, Mycenae and Olympia (and private guided tours)
• Ticket for the Cog Railway
• Services of tour guide and wine educator Christos Ioannou
