Rias Baixas Masterclass (St Albans)
The area of Galicia, in North-West Spain, is home to the wine region Rias Baixas. Nicknamed 'Green Spain' the area enjoys plenty of cool Atlantic weather and, as such, its landscape shares more in common with Cornwall than it does with the more southerly Spanish holiday destinations.
The majority of wines from Rias Baixas are made from the grape variety Albarino which has become very fashionable and is now firmly planted in the minds of UK white wine drinkers. Join us on this special evening to find out more and taste a fantastic selection of wines from the area, some of which are hard to find in the UK. The wines, some of which will be accompanied with appropriate nibbles, include an aged Albariño, a blended Albariño, one from the southern sub-region of Condado do Tea, a couple from the sub-region of Val do Salnés (where you will find the majority of wineries) and one aged ‘sobre lías’.
All tastings include at least seven wines, tasting notes, a tutored presentation and use of professional ISO tasting glasses. This wine tasting evening also makes a great gift voucher idea for just £25.
