Fine Wine Tasting (Harpenden)
What is the definition of 'Fine Wine'? Is it the vintage (the year in which the wine was made), the region from which it comes, the soil in which the vines were grown or the reputation of the producer? In truth, it is usually a combination of all these factors, and more, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating, or in this case the drinking. Until the bottle is opened and the wine tasted, we can never be certain that any wine can be labelled as 'Fine', and, of course, personal preference is the ultimate judge.
Join us on this very special evening when we will taste fine wines from both the Old World and New World, including Bordeaux, Italy, South Africa and more. The price of this exclusive ‘fine wine’ tasting reflects the very high quality of the wines being served. The provisional line-up is:
Nyetimber Brut Classic Cuvee, England
William Fevre ‘Champs Royaux’ Chablis AC (2015)
Domaine Fichet, “Chateau London”, Macon-Igé AOP, Burgundy (2015)
San Marzano 'Old Vines' Primitivo di Manduria, Italy (2013)
Clos de L’Oratoire des Papes, Chateauneuf-du-Pape AC (2012)
A Medoc 'Cru Bourgeois' Bordeaux (2010)
Meerlust 'Rubicon' Bordeaux Blend, South Africa (2013)
Chateau Filhot, Sauternes AC (2009)
