Discover the Wines of Italy (Hitchin)
Italy is currently the World’s largest producer of wine and is also the country with the greatest variety of grapes and wine styles. This tasting will explore Italian wine-growing regions from North to South and include, along the way, some of the most famous names including Prosecco, Barolo, Amarone, Chianti and Gavi.
We will try wine from a wonderful selection of grapes, such as Nebbiolo, Sangiovese, Barbera, Corvina and Primitivo, many of which are found only in Italy, and, as Italian wines are notoriously 'food friendly' we will taste approriate food samples with some the wines.
Included in the line-up will be a bottle of Primitivo di Manduria Riserva '62 Anniversario' San Marzano (which was recently voted 'Wine of the Year' by Hertfordshire Wine School customers).
Join us on this evening tasting and find out why Italy’s reputation as a producer of quality wine has been well and truly restored.
All tastings include at least seven wines, sourced locally, so you can find them easily if you like them, tasting notes, a tutored presentation and use of professional ISO tasting glasses.
