France v The New World (Hitchin)
SORRY - SOLD OUT. Why not try one of our 'France v The New World' tastings in Hitchin starting on 17th January? The UK’s 30-year love affair with wines from Australia, South Africa, Chile and other 'New World' countries shows no sign of waning and it will come as no surprise to learn that two-thirds of wine consumed in the UK comes from outside Europe. But the French still make the best wine - or do they?
Join us on this tasting as we attempt to find out the answer. We will ‘compare and contrast’ by tasting examples of classic reds and whites from France against the same grape varieties from the New World, including Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah (or should that be Shiraz?). Find out if you are a fan of the Rhone or Barossa, or maybe you prefer Medoc to McLaren Vale?
We will taste eight wines on the evening, which also makes a great gift idea for £30.
All tastings include wines sourced locally so you can find them easily if you like them, tasting notes, a tutored presentation and use of professional ISO tasting glasses.
