Wines of The Rhone Valley with Linda Field (St Albans)
Did you know the French have been making wine in the Rhone Valley for over 2,500 years? And that the area is the second largest quality wine producing region in France?
To find out more, join us on this special Rhone wine evening to learn about the region and taste wines you may never have tried before. We are deligfhted to welcome back Linda Field, a Certified WSET®Educator, who now lives in the Rhone Valley, where she runs the wine school, Auberge du Vin. Linda has led tastings for us in the past, which have sold out very quickly.
The evening will provide an overview of the different appellations of the Rhone Valley, from Cote Rotie in the north to the Luberon Valley in the south, and explain the different styles of wine produced. The line-up of wines, which has yet to be confirmed, will feature some that are unavailable in the UK, such as wines from Tavel, Rasteau, Cotes du Rhone Villages, St Joseph and Crozes Hermitage.
The evening also includes Rhone-style nibbles to accompany some of the wines. Linda will share her findings about current winemaking practices, marketing and tourism and bring you right up to date with this dynamic and exciting wine region.
No previous wine-tasting experience is necessary and the evening also makes a great gift idea for £30.
If you fancy going one step further by visiting the Rhone on a special wine holiday, our next tour, which will be led by Linda and based at the Auberge du Vin, takes place from 12th to 15th April 2018. Click here or on the Rhone Wine Tours tab for further details.
