Food & Wine Workshop (Harpenden)
Join us in May for a Food & Wine Matching Evening at Park Hall in Harpenden and learn, through tasting, which food best accompanies which wine. A hand-picked selection of seven superb wines will be served, each with a tasting sample of delicious, locally-sourced, food specially prepared by The Local Kitchen.
Based in St Albans, The Local Kitchen is the brainchild of Becky Alexander and Liz Marcy, who have a passion for producing healthy, seasonal food made using the best ingredients our area has to offer, and we are delighted to have teamed up with them to present this wonderful tasting.

The workshop will showcase seven popular and delicious styles of wine, starting with a seasonal fizzy and including a fresh, crisp New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, a smooth and silky Pinot Noir from Burgundy and a luscious dessert wine – just the sort of wine you might like to serve for indoor, or ‘al fresco’, entertaining this summer. We’ll also try the foods you can serve to make the wines taste even better. Think succulent, home-smoked duck, salmon, salami, cheese, asparagus and apple tart – one or more with each wine and all served in mouth-watering, bite-sized portions.
As well as tasting some delicious food and wine we will examine some of the guiding principles of food-pairing and learn why some wine is not at all food-friendly! All food, wine, glasses, tasting notes and other materials will be provided – book now for just £35.
