Bordeaux Masterclass (St Albans)
Bordeaux has been seen as the capital of the wine world for hundreds of years and still makes many of the world's best and most expensive wines. But with over 10,000 wine producing estates it also produces a great range of wine styles and prices – did you know, for example, that over 50% of Bordeaux wines are designed for everyday drinking at sensible prices?
Join us to discover how to get the best value from Bordeaux, hear about a sea-change of recent developments and taste some wines from leading producers including including a Sauternes Premier Cru Classe, Cru Bourgeois, Pomerol and the Cotes. Compare Cabernet dominated wines of the 'left bank' to the appellations around St Emilion, where more 'fruit-forward' Merlot makes up the majority of the blend. We will also explore the value of blending and maturation - especially important in Bordeaux – and taste some excellent white and sparkling wines.
Hertfordshire Wine School is a partner of L'Ecole du Vin in Bordeaux and David is an Accredited Bordeaux Wine Educator.
This special wine tasting evening also makes a great gift voucher idea for only £35 for birthdays, anniversaries or other occasions.
All tastings include at least seven wines, sourced locally so you can find them easily if you like them, tasting notes, tutored tasting and use of professional tasting glasses.
