Vineyard Tour with Tutored Tasting and Supper
SORRY - SOLD OUT. Come along on Wednesday 25 July for an exclusive Hertfordshire Wine School guided tour of Frithsden Vineyard and winery, followed by a tutored tasting of some of the wines and a Chilli supper with wine or soft drinks.
Frithsden Vineyard grows and presses its own grapes then makes and bottles wine, made from 6,000 vines of Rondo, Solaris and Phoenix – varieties which are particularly suited to the ‘marginal’ English climate. Situated near the Alford Arms, not far from Berkhamsted, Frithsden has been owned and run by Peter and Natalie Tooley since 2005. This is great opportunity to get into the vineyard, learn about winemaking at first hand and ask questions of the winemaker. 2018 is promising to be a good vintage and July is a great time to see the grapes beginning to grow on the vine.
The weather is usually fine but, just in case, supper is served inside the vineyard's homely and rustic dining area. Wear stout shoes - we will be trampling around amongst the vines - and bring a cardigan! The price is £30, which includes the tour, tasting and supper - additional wine and other drinks are available to purchase. The vineyard shop will also be open if you fancy any local jam, honey, pressed oils, specialist teas or, of course, wine.
Great value – book on line and meet at the vineyard. This Vineyard experience also makes a perfect gift voucher idea for birthdays or other celebrations.
