The A-Z of Grapes - from Albarino to Zinfandel (St Albans)
Starts 30th April, every Tuesday for four weeks
Did you know that there over 1,400 grape varieties that are used in wine making? And yet, if pushed, most of us would struggle to name more than a dozen. To find out more, join us on this new four-week course when we work through the alphabet, tasting from A to Z, and finding out where different grapes flourish and why they sometimes hide behind the labels of well-known names. For example, there are 13 separate grape varieties permitted in Chateauneuf-du-Pape and 5 in the red wines from Rioja. Along the way, we will discover wines made from some of the lesser known varieties and take in a few familiar names along the way.
Tuesday 30th April – from Albarino to Furmint
Tuesday 7th May – from Grenache to Muscat
Tuesday 14th May – from Nebbiolo to Shiraz
Tuesday 21st May – from Torrontes to Zinfandel
